What EDD requires
California's State Disability Insurance program is run by the Employment Development Department. For a claim based on a mental health condition, EDD requires Part B of form DE 2501, the practitioner's certificate, to be completed by a licensed health professional.
What we provide
Our psychologists conduct a clinical evaluation, document your condition and its effect on your ability to work. We then complete and submit our portion of the certification to EDD, which takes it from there.
What an evaluation involves
California Psychological is here to guide you through four virtual steps. Our goal is to provide all the support you need as quickly as possible.
The four key steps:

Consultation: A free call with our team to walk through how the evaluation works, what it covers, and when we can schedule it.

Clinical evaluation: A licensed psychologist meets with you by video, conducts the assessment, and reaches a clinical determination.

Certification: If the evaluation supports it, we complete Part B of the DE 2501 and submit it to EDD.

Continuing care: If your treatment continues, we can provide the recertification EDD asks for on an ongoing claim.

About California SDI
State Disability Insurance is a California program run by the Employment Development Department. It is funded by employee payroll contributions and covers eligible workers who cannot work because of a non-work-related illness or injury, including mental health conditions.
